We operate on a fixed fee basis and offer the below services for small claims matters (i.e. claims with a value up to £10,000). All prices are exclusive of VAT.
- Letter of Claim - £10.00
Sending a Letter of Claim and Reply Pack to a debtor in respect of unpaid parking charge notices. A Letter of Claim will be sent within one week of receiving your instructions. The debtor will have 30 days to reply to the Letter of Claim. This fee does not include considering or responding to any responses received (which would be as per the Letter of Claim Reply Package below).
- Reply Package - £60.00
Entering into correspondence with a debtor following their reply to the Letter of Claim until the matter is either resolved to your satisfaction or a County Court claim becomes necessary.
- Claim Issue - £150.00
Issuing a County Court claim for unpaid parking charge notices and where required, drafting detailed Particulars of Claim. A claim will be issued within one week of receiving your instructions. The debtor will then have a maximum of twenty-eight days to respond to the claim. We will then forward any response to the claim (if any) to you. Please note that a court fee which is calculated based on your claim value is also payable (HMCTS link).
- Judgment Request - £55.00
If the debtor does not respond to your claim and the relevant time period has expired, we will submit a request to the court that judgment is entered in default. A copy of the judgment will then be sent to you upon its receipt from the court.
- Inter-Parte Negotiations - £40.00
Entering into negotiations with a debtor after a claim has been issued until the matter is either settled to your satisfaction or you wish to continue to a court hearing.
- Discontinuance - £40.00
In the event you wish to end your claim, we will prepare and send the relevant notice. The notice will be sent within one week of us receiving your instructions.
- Trial Package - £700.00
If a claim is defended, you will need to prepare for trial. This service includes drafting directions questionnaires, one witness statement and instructing and providing an advocate to attend a small claims hearing with a time listing of no more than two hours. Following a claim being defended, we would expect the trial to take place within around six months. Please note issued, we would expect a matter to proceed to a small claims hearing within 6-8 months (dependent on the capacity of the appropriate court). Please note that a court fee which is calculated based on your claim value is also payable (HMCTS link). This fee does not include attending a mediation appointment or instructing an expert witness.
